Just wanted to let you know that Bead & Button sign ups start January 9th!  

I am teaching 4 classes.  Hope to see you in a class or two.....or 3....or 4.......

My first class is: RIVETS COLD CONNECTIONS & MORE

This class will not only teach you all about riveting, we will also explore different methods of texturing and coloring metals.  A great class for those that are new to riveting...those that haven't been successful riveting and those that are experienced and looking to expand their skills!

Next class is: LET'S COLOR IT!!

In this class you will learn to color metal and then create a piece of your choice using riveting techniques.  No drawing skills required....just the need to have fun and explore!

My third class: A DAY OF EARRINGS

Spend the day creating earrings....after all we can never have too many!  Some of the skills used will be metal forming, chain maille, wire wrapping and creating a unique wire bead.  The hardest thing about this class will be deciding which pair to wear out of class!

Last but not least: SALTWATER METAL ETCHING

This is a technique that I am obsessed with!  Etching metal without the toxic chemicals....be still my heart!  We will explore a number of methods of applying designs to the metals.  After etching you will have the opportunity to create a piece of your choice.  Just beware....you too may become obsessed!

Another bead store bites the dust.....

I am so sad to say that Fusion beads in Seattle is closing their doors at the end of September.  They will still have their on line store, but the brick and mortar store will no longer be.  For me this is a loss of, not only a wonderful store and staff..but also a local place that I have been able to teach at for so many years.  So sad......

So what is next.....to be honest I'm not sure.  At the moment I am in a bit of a whirl wind....sold my house....need to find another....get moved in and settled....so as it stands I will be looking for another place to call home for my classes after the first of the year.  If anyone has any suggestions or requests let me know where you would like to take local classes from me.

March means time to go to Creative Castle to teach......

 As with most of my classes, these are open to all skill levels!   

Fridays class is Let's Sparkle Pendant and Earrings. 
It's a fun combination of metalwork and bead embroidery.  This technique also lends itself to making a pin if that floats your boat!

Saturdays class is Flowers & Leaves
Using metalwork, riveting, wire work and resin techniques to create these fun pieces!  So much fun!

Sundays class is: It's All About Color!  In this class we will explore adding color to metal using colored pencils and then take our fabulous pieces and turning them in to earrings or pendants using metalwork and riveting techniques.

Alaska....here I come........
