So much got done this week!  Bringing tools over to the new studio....finding no less than 15 plastic mallets....hummmm...why I ask myself...why so many????  Discovering tools I didn't know I had...like this corrugater....who knew!
I wonder how many other things I am going to uncover?
My studio is set up with things around it that make me smile and make my heart sing....so my angels....butterfly pictures from Thailand....

Even some of my collection of African masks......none of these things important to the work...just important to my soul!
I am also lucky to have a separate space for my tools and supplies....a place to organize and store all the things that don't have to be out all the time.
As you can see even Bogey is worn out from all of this moving and organizing!
We are getting close to being able to welcome students into the space....still a few details that need to be finished up with the rest of the space.....some space remodeling....things beyond my control....that's okay..it will give me time to really get organized and set for running classes and creating new and wonderful pieces!

My brain is so full of new pieces I want to create!  Stay tune!

Getting closer!

Every day brings me a day closer to opening my new studio!
If you haven't heard....I am opening a studio in Kirkland Washington that I will be teaching out of and offering open studio time.  I am hoping to be open for business by the middle of May....although that date may change as the rest of the space ( a spectacular hair salon) may not be ready for occupancy.  I am keeping my fingers that things go smoothly and all inspections are passed!
I already have a few people scheduled to come in for classes from outside the area this summer.
If you are interested in setting up classes or studio time you can email me at: Tracyastanley@hotmail.com

Check out my progress......

Tables for my students-check!
A comfy place to sit and contemplate life...projects....whatever is coming next!-check!!
Rolling mill waiting to texture metal-check!!
I am in the process of bringing in tools and supplies so that classes will have everything needed to make spectacular pieces!

I am so excited to be doing this....I hope you'll come by and see it in person sometime!

Things are moving along.....

Slowly but surely, my studio is taking on a personality!  Everything from African fabrics & masks to a metal chicken!

There was a large rug attached to the wall.....hummm one can only wonder why....now it is a great looking wall piece with squares that will have cork and mirrors......I AM SO EXCITED...it looks fabulous....Now all I have to do is decide where to put cork and where to put mirrors....decisions...decisions.....
And the space wouldn't be complete without some place to sit and contemplate......
Next week comes the working table, display cabinet and tools!  Ah yes, it is all coming together!
Looks like it will be a mid May opening!

Times they are a changing......

It has been a long time since I have blogged, but I thought I would try to commit to being better!
So much has changed over the last year.  Janice & I decided to close Wired Arts....simply a business decision....no worries we are still friends!  I have decided to take a new direction myself and am opening a small studio in Kirkland Washington! WIRE & METAL ARTS By Tracy is my new name. I am so excited to see where this new place takes me.  Right now I am in the process of painting (ok...actually my husband is doing the painting) and setting up the space.  My plan is to be able to teach small wire and metal classes and offer open studio times. I will have tools for students to use and some to buy.  I will also be offering finished pieces for sale.

In the next few weeks I will post pictures of the progress!
If you happen to live in the area and want to get get more information on classes or coming by my new studio email me at Tracyastanley@hotmail.com

Hope to hear from you!
